Standing Firm When the World Around You is Crumbling

I’ve recently experienced a loss in my family. This is just one of the plethora of things that have given me a cause for pause.

The world as we know it is falling apart. In some countries, quite literally. No matter where in the world you live, as long as it’s here on Earth, it’s on its way down. Earthquakes, freak accidents, floods, crimes, and unprecedented societal decay.

I don’t need anyone to tell me that robots and AI are going to be the undoing of humanity. If you’re a Christian with half a spirit of discernment, you should know that the spiritual times have changed. Natural, supernatural, and criminal events are causing our hearts to drop faster than AI ever could.

Now more than ever, we need to find solid ground. We need to rise above the world and its events.

  • Where do your hope and peace come from?
  • What is your faith built on?
  • Do you believe your life matters and that you’re here not by mistake but by design?
  • What drives your life?
  • What are your values?

Take a critical look at your life and honestly answer the questions above, and many more that may come up as you reflect.

Our environment will always try to influence how we feel or respond to situations. Being crippled by fear is the fastest way to lose life or the essence of it. When your faith, hope, peace, and values are held grounded by an Anchor greater than all things and people, fear is replaced by faith.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear.

I don’t have all the answers; I’m still learning too. But I can tell you, the more I look beyond myself and beyond this world for peace, the calmer and more anchored I feel.

Staying sane, optimistic, and whole, now, requires more commitment than most of us are ready to admit. More prayer is required. Unwavering faith, strict discipline, and a sharp focus must all be in your survival toolkit.

There’s still so much beauty happening in the world. Gorgeous brides walking down church aisles, adorable babies taking their first breaths, and young people graduating from school. There’s still so much joy your heart can ponder on. The world is crumbling, but the sun is still rising and setting, and the course of life continuing. We must still be able to go through life’s mundane activities regardless of what’s happening.

It’s not over until it is over.

For now, go on and live wisely, fearlessly, faithfully, and prayerfully.
